The lawyers in there wanted to attack ALL traces of content in games that they considered corrupting to the player. I don't know if the history of it has been discussed before, so I have some background below: If you're referring to the GTA:SA "Hot Coffee" Scandal, then you are exactly correct. if there's a god, someone will come up with a Mac cheat to finally kill that distracting censor. Whatever happened to user choice? Can I not make my own decisions abotu how damaged I'll be if I see a naked Sim? In any event, it's hard to take seriously that anyone could be offended by a naked Sim drawing - good grief, they don't even have genitals.Īh, well. The pixellation annoys me enough already, but if you're right and Aspyr/EA are being driven by current US paranoia over depicted nudity, then it annoys me even more that the rest of the world has no choice but to go along with American moral paranoia. a PC coder could do it, I think - every single PC patch I have works perfectly on the Mac version, so on the whole there's not much difference in the code approach, if any. In theory, all code can be got around somehow, and it can't take too long for a Mac-savvy player to come up with a workaround for this. I think the problem we have is that there simply are not yet enough Mac players out there. I'm guessing that a lot of coders have not looked into this because the cheat code works on PC. However, on behalf of all us Mac Simmers, I would like to request if someone can have a look into this and see if they can come up with a workaround. On that note, surely there must be another way - maybe through a patch as with the original Sims - to remove the blur. It is also possible that future PC updates may disable this code, as EA may want to play it safe - you never know. I suspect that this may have something to do with the recent press coverage from that lawyer bloke, and I'm guessing that we will not see this code working anytime soon. Any queries to them if this is going to be addressed are ignored. However, after the release of the recent official patch from Aspyr, the code doesn't do anything at all. At first when using the code, the game froze for the duration while sims were nude (as you may know). I am a Mac user and unfortunatly, the cheat code for removing the blur does not work in the Mac version.
